  • Deposition of thin films (NiTiCu) using sputtering from elemental, mosaic target systems

  • Fabrication of samples and structures using Focused Ion Beam(FIB) for transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis and cross-sectional analysis(trained at Sheffield University, UK and CeNSE, IISc, Bangalore)

  • Study of mechanical properties of thin films using nanoindentation and analysis using atomic force microscope (AFM), scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrographs of the indents to correlate the structure and properties

  • Shape recovery properties of NiTiCu thin films after heating were evaluated by correlating the AFM and SEM micrographs of the nanoindenter, which were relocated precisely, before and after heating the thin films for shape recovery

  • Analysis of AFM and SEM micrographs of the nanoindenter was carried out using MATLAB to obtain the amount of shape recovery

  • Development of experimental setup for electric contact resistance (ECR) measurement at low loads

  • Characterization of ECR of thin films at various loads applied using a conductive diamond tip
